This was a staple back in the late 1800’s in Goldsboro. This was used to wash clothes. It would take families with multiple children a lot less time than a smaller family on wash day. Each person in the family had a duty, whether it was scrubbing the clothes, rinsing, and hanging clothing on the line to dry.
