People would use these to drink hot beverages. Most homes in Goldsboro had teacups.
Night Restroom
Every family in Goldsboro had an outhouse (a toilet outside), but this pot was used at night only when it was too dark to go outside to use the outhouse. In the morning, it was someone’s duty to dispose of and clean the pot.
The Holy Bible
Most homes had a bible, even if they did not read them. This was a typical article found in the living room of most, but not all, homes in Goldsboro.

This was used to eat food out of, whether it be cereal, salad, candy, or desserts in Goldsboro. They were used as serving bowls .
Glass Decorative Piggy Bank
Most families in Goldsboro gave their children a piggy bank to save their money, although some families did not have piggy banks and just put their money in a jar.
Oil Lamp
These lamps were the traditional lighting system and usually families in Goldsboro would have one lamp and some had at least two or three to be able to see to go into one room or another. These lamps used oil. Normally, these lamps were just plain glass with no decoration.
